Sherman began his accounting career in 1978. He became a CPA in
1981 and founded his own firm later that same year.
As a firm
owner, he was in charge of all aspects of the firm including management of the firm, planning and conducting audit, review,
and compilation engagements in a wide array of industries including healthcare, real estate, service, distribution
and manufacturing. He also has extensive experience in many areas of taxation. During the some twenty years Sherman
owned and operated his own CPA practice with the assistance of his wife, he also taught accounting and business subjects full
time at A B Tech. Sherman retired from A B Tech in 2000, sold his firm to a fellow CPA in 2002 and he and his wife continued
working for that CPA until 2007. In 2007 Sherman's wife retired due to illness and Sherman decided to inactivate
his CPA certificate and try retirement. After a brief retirement, Sherman is back doing the work he loves best,
assisting clients with income tax and accounting.
